Artist Statement
In the tapestry of everyday life, where routine often masks the extraordinary, my art emerges as a sanctuary for the soul—a place where dreams not only dwell but flourish. Born in the rich cultural heritage of Iran and now creating in the United States, my work is a bridge between the ancient artistry of Persian motifs and the bold spirit of contemporary expression. For over two decades, I have dedicated myself to exploring the depths of artistic creation, intertwining traditional Persian elements such as intricate carpet patterns, lustrous tile work, and delicate miniature paintings with modern techniques that layer transparency and optics. This fusion creates a visual depth that speaks of beauty, resilience, and the enduring strength of women, central figures in my narratives. Each piece I create is a testament to freedom and the boundless possibilities that art allows. Escaping from the constraints of my early experiences in a conservative setting, my palette is deliberately vibrant, symbolizing liberation and the joy that ensues when one is truly free. My art is an invitation to viewers to experience a world where colors dance and light prevails, encouraging a sense of hope and lightness in the face of life’s challenges. As a woman and an artist, my journey has been one of profound transformation and constant pursuit of my dreams. Through my work, I aim to inspire others to see beyond the surface, to uncover the beauty and possibility that resides within each of us. Let my art be a reminder that even in darkness, there is always a path towards light.
